Welcome to Norway's most popular freediving course!

Our courses are for those who want to have free diving as a safe and motivating hobby or want to get started with underwater hunting.

With a focus on safety, technique, equipment and boundary setting, you get a motivating start to your new hobby. Frivannsliv gives you Norway's most sought-after course in freediving. See the course calendar below to find out where we organize courses.
You choose whether you want to rent course equipment from us in the registration form.

All our instructors are approved through NDF, CMAS and our own requirements for training. Register early, our courses normally sell out quickly.

See the course calendar below for more information about time and place

Don't have equipment and need to rent?

You can rent an equipment package for the course as an option in the registration for NOK 500. The equipment is delivered on the course.

We offer both DAY COURSES and WEEKEND COURSES in freediving.
(Note that you must be able to swim and not afraid of water to be able to participate)

Day course

This is the course for those who want to have a thorough review of theoretical content and join an instructor in the sea where knowledge is put into practice.
The day will include a review of theory to be able to engage in safe freediving where you will get to know the equipment, safety and learn many useful tips and tricks. After the theory, we put on the equipment and carry out some practical tests in the water. You will not be taught in one day, but the aim here is to give you the knowledge to be able to operate safe freediving where most beginner mistakes can be weeded out.

Weekend course

This is the course for those who want to spend two whole days learning to freedive. Here, both teaching and experience are in focus.
On day 1, we carry out an extended theory lesson and a simple sea dive where we get to know the equipment. On day 2, we go on an exciting diving trip with an instructor where we will show what the activity has to offer, and develop the technique further. The feeling of mastery will usually be somewhat greater if you complete the weekend course compared to a day course.

* Please note that some weekend courses have the first day in the pool instead of one of sea diving. You can see this on the relevant course you are signing up for.

We also offer tailored private courses with a traveling instructor and equipment. Send an e-mail to post@frivannsliv.no for more information.

If you want to take part in a course in the south, we can advise you about our course partner Kote Null. See their course calendar here.
