Regulations for record list in underwater hunting

New registrations are sent to post@frivannsliv.no according to the list below.

1. Catch rules

a. Norwegian records in underwater hunting can be set in Norway and Norwegian waters

b. The fish must be taken with a harpoon gun, hands, knife or spear, and in the form of free diving.

c. It is not permitted to take fish that have been cultivated or are in fish farming.

d. Registered fish must be over 300 g.

2. Weighing and measuring

a. Fish under 25kg must be weighed on a digital scale. Fish over 25kg can be weighed on a feather scale. The jury can demand that the scale be sent for checking. Preferably, the fish must be weighed on a scale that is approved for purchase and sale.

b. Enter weight type and weighing location

c. A measurement of the fish is required from the snout to the outermost edge of the gill.

3. Attestation

a. The correct weight and length must be witnessed by two people (in addition to the UV hunter himself) who have been present at the weighing.

b. There must also be a written confirmation that the information given is correct by a person of legal age.

4. Photo/Identification

a. A picture of the fish must be attached, showing the size of the fish clearly. The fish should be placed on the ground together with a measuring stick, possibly another familiar object (harpoon, flipper etc.)

It is also desirable to have a photo of the hunter with the catch. The images must be in good resolution.

b. In the case of species of fish that can be confused with others, a detailed photo must also be attached.

c. The fish should be deep-frozen until the record is approved by the jury

5. Special provisions

The record list applies to fish species that are considered food fish by the UV hunter. New fishing species and catch information must still be approved by the jury. It is forbidden to harpoon or stab salmon in this country, and lobsters are completely safe in relation to diving.
