Break-away system for all salvimar harpoons. By using break-away, the harpoon does not become part of your rig after harpooning the big fish. The end of the harpoon line is attached to the break-away loop instead of using a shock absorber. When the big fish is speared, the break-away system detaches from the harpoon. and the harpoon line is connected directly to the catch line, which in turn goes to the catch buoy.
This system is only applicable when hunting for the very largest fish, and is not widespread in Norway.
