Underwater hunting is the art of hunting fish with a harpoon when freediving. This form of food gathering is very exciting, and you don't need to be in particularly good shape or have unique prerequisites to become a skilled underwater hunter. Norway is at the top of the world when it comes to underwater hunting. Not because we are competing for who is the best, but because the conditions in Norway are completely unique. We have a large supply of cod, ling, pollock, catfish, sole and flounder. We also find many different shells and shellfish. Best of all, this is accessible in shallow water.

The most common depths to gather food and hunt are from 0-13 meters. These are depths that the vast majority quickly learn to master through a course and/or a bit of practice.
