Catch rules for freedivers

Harvest with respect for the sea. Minimum sizes are a floor, not a target. Take only what you will eat, and listen to local advice.

Minimum sizes, protected periods and place-based bans for fishing at sea. Rules about nets, pots and traps are left out — they are not relevant for freedivers.

Det er ikkje minstemål på makrell og sei for fritidsfiskarar, så sant ein ikkje skal selje fangsten.

Verdt å vite om undervannsjakt

Innafor 14 definerte gyteområder frå Lindesnes langs Skagerrakkysten, i Oslofjorden og til grensa mot Sverige er det forbod mot alt fiske i gyteperioden for torsk frå og med 1. januar til og med 30. april. Undervassjakt i gytefelta er tillatt sidan dette er heilt selektivt.
Det er forbode å fiske kveite sør for 62°N heile året. Det er ikkje lov å fiske kveite Nord for 62°N frå og med 20. desember til og med 20. april. Forboda gjeld for alle fiskereiskap.
Nord for 62°N er det forbode å fiske uer, med unntak av fiske med jukse frå og med 1. juni til og med 31. august.

Spearfishing is exempt from the cod spawning-ground ban, but the halibut ban applies to all gear — and the redfish exemption north of 62°N covers handline, not spearguns.
